Adam at the Spa

Can you picture me, your Adam guy, enjoying the spa? I guess depending on the type of guy you think I am, your answer may be “No Way!”

Couples MassageCouples MassageRelax, after the initial hesitation and embarrassment, you’ll see your Adam is really a closet spa lover. His treatment preference will vary, but here’s a few insights, guy to gal to guy.

Spa Experience – Understand spas are intimidating to a male spa virgin. The aromatherapy, scrubs and pedicures feel counter to our virile masculinity. The smells, the relaxing music, waterfalls and getting naked on a table make us feel vulnerable to have someone to apply oils and massage our bodies. Shudder!

Ladies, understand his hesitation, fear and intimidation. Plan on the negotiation and reassurance needed for that first experience.

Spa Treatment – On his first visit to the spa, choose a couples treatment to break the ice with an upper body massage treatment (those a little more daring on their virgin visit may want a full-body treatment). Sharing the experience with you will be a turn-on, and the safe conservatism of an upper body treatment won’t push the boundaries too far.

Male or Female Masseur – Girls, you might prefer a man to work his digital magic on you, but we don’t. A female’s hands working our body is enough positive to offset the fear of the beginners massage experience. Once you’ve got him in the door and on the table, you’ll never have to plead again.

Beer Scrub Pedicure – There’s something that makes a pedicure really feel good to most guys. The beer helps to relax during the pedicure – and reassure your guy that the clear, protective polish will go unnoticed by his buddies.

NegotiationNegotiationReflexology – Can’t argue with the science of pressure relief along your body’s meridians – talk about stress relief. Who knows what else the pressure point the massage might stimulate?

A day or afternoon at the spa will leave you with a noodle of a man, relaxed and willing to listen to other new and crazy ideas that you may have (let the negotiation begin). You might also contribute to the growing trend of men who enjoy the spa for their health, therapeutic and relaxation benefits.

And that only bodes well for future spa adventures for you. Ready to start find the best spa for you and your guy?

And yes, we adore the Bay of Fundy :-) While I'll agree it's no longer parka weather in your neck of the woods, it's not quite string bikini weather either. Shall we toast to it and let the beer warm us up? Happy St Paddy's Day! Julia"

I had just purchased it on board the ship the day prior. But nothing can compare to the loss of a family member. The Captain had everyones attention for the announcement. Captain Draper done a great job informing the passengers of the accident. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Rumphrey family."
