Not all cruises are created equal

My idea of the perfect vacation. Visit a lot of places without actually having to spend time traveling, living out of a suitcase or hunting down the best places to eat, play and sleep.

Cruise anyone?

Cruise, Baby, CruiseCruise, Baby, CruiseAll entertainment, meals and accommodations are included and while many ships cruise by night, many are also floating resorts that have more than enough fun onboard. But all cruises are not created equal. And choosing one that caters to your needs - and desires - will guarantee yours is so much more than just a day at the beach...

Health & Fitness Nuts

If you want to stay active while cruising, but can't bear the thought of another treadmill, Carnival Cruises is your best choice. Their routes along the Western Caribbean offer a wide variety of snorkeling, hiking, biking and scuba diving.

Girl Time

Carly Milne says Royal Caribbean rocks out with girlfriend cruises. "By the end of the trip, Sandra and I were blissfully un-stressed and sad to see it over with."

And if you take a repositioning cruise (ships moving from one region to another between seasons) you'll enjoy the best the cruise line has to offer at a fraction of the cost.

Big-Time Celebrations

Cruises used to be the hangout places for the newly wed and nearly dead, but today they're a great way to celebrate all the milestones in between. Whatever your celebration, go big with a cruise across the Atlantic on the Queen 2 Mary (Cunard) or a barging cruise through the French Waterways (GoBarging). Elegance, days that revolve around wine and fine dining and time to while away with your lover - now that's what I call perfect.

Have you cruised before? Did you choose wrong or do you want to hit the rewind button and do it again and again and again?

Actually, where I sit currently (on a barrier island) has been under water many times. Staying on an island is scary. We leave if it is over a CAT 1. The most important thing for us is to fill our gas tanks at the first inkling that there may be a storm. Water, medicines, non perishable food, they're all really important. Honestly, if it is a big storm, alcohol later serves as pay for work. We stock up on EVERYTHING. We start eating out of the freezer days before (like we did tonight, getting ready for Earl). You don't want much to go bad. Then we tie up all the trash cans, secure grills, and hold on for dear life :)"

  • On American Tourist Kidnappings on the Rise in Mexico, Roger said "Better not to drive if you can travel by bus. Buses are not apt to be targets like cars with US plates that also can be stolen. The buses in Mexico are very comfortable like flying in a plane they often have movies and it is safer.Plan your trip and don't travel alone especially if you are female.Women traveling alone are a target Good luck and stay alert."
