From Aruba with love…
How do you take your poolside fun? How about dipped in relaxed glam and drenched with sun-kissed luxury? Aruba is one of GoGirlfriend’s favorite beachy islands with sinfully luxurious spas and long stretches of beach where we can indulge our margarita-sipping, sushi-nibbling selves. We’ve been to Aruba twice (not nearly enough) and the island never fails to meet our girlfriend getaway standards.
Beach - no stress! It’s impossible to deny Aruba’s siren song for long and we’ve decided it’s time to submit – again. Top up your chardonnay and join us for some join us for some Aruba dreaming – while we pack our bags…
Sleep ~ Style mixed with subtlety
Girlfriend getaways are best done on adult-only resorts. If you have to ask why, you need to getaway and find out for yourself. You’ll find Bucuti & Tara Resort, Arubaa Renaissance Aruba in Organjestad as well as Hyatt Regency and Marriott on Eagle Beach. But we have our sights set on Bucuti & Tara, ranked number one on TripAdvisor (out of 24 hotels). We love that some of the rooms can accommodate 3 adults (perfect for a girlfriend getaway) and that it’s not all-inclusive, which means you can enjoy a different local restauant every night.
Eat ~ Come hungry to Aruba
Screaming Eagle Restaurant, ArubaIn Aruba, the big meal of the day is mid-day. During our last visit, we lived like locals and noshed through lunch menus at the nicer restaurants, which saved some serious money. Adding to our Aruba travel wish list:
- Madame Janette – Named after a chili pepper, we’ve heard the food here tastes as divine as it looks.
- Screaming Eagle – A restaurant that offers dinner in bed? No, we’re not kidding. Sign us up.
- Flying Fishbone – Dining so close to the shore you can dip your toes into the waves gives new meaning to beachside dining. And we hear the champagne mousse is delish.
Play ~ The night away
Aruba takes on a Vegas vibe at night as the air fills with salsa, reggaeton (South American raga), meringue and the island's own Tumba. Glam up those beachy curls, add some bling and we’re ready for sunset cocktails. Look out Aruba, GoGirlfriend is coming for you.
Vegas-style nightlife in Aruba
- Kukoo Kunuku – A wandering party that travels throughout Aruba. Sounds perfect!
- 7 West – We hear the nightlife doesn’t begin here until 9 or 10 pm and can carry on into 3 or 4 am. Once, just once, we’d like to visit.
- The Sopranos Piano Bar – Live music in a bar named after our beloved Sopranos. Bliss.
Now that we’ve got our wish list completed, we just need to gather up our gal pals and get out of Dodge. We happen excel at that.
