Shaking up the party with cocktails from your travels

My best friend tames her tension with a big apple martini mixed with a weekend at the spa. I’m good with anything that involves tequila, good music and friends. We may be BFF’s but we’re totally unique when it comes to adult drinks.

Cocktails Anyone?Cocktails Anyone?Whether you’re into wild nights that stretch until dawn or secluded beachhouses with nothing between you and the stars, that special something that makes your tastebuds zing can make – or break – a getaway.

At the Westin La Cantera Resort I acquainted myself with cactus pear margaritas, but California was all about the sangria. And it’s frustrating to replay the cocktails at home without a good recipe. Sure, Google is a good standby, but when it comes to cocktails, I want the recipe fast.

CocktailTimes.com is my new BFF. I love that everything is within easy reach and there’s no mumbo jumbo involved with the recipes.Yes, I’m recipe challenged at the best of times! If you’re a true cocktail aficionado, you’ll enjoy all the articles that range from the history of your favorite drinks to informative articles about barware.

Be warned that the site is very busy though and sprinkled with irritating flashing ads. But for the ability to find all my cocktail recipes in one space, it’s an annoyance I’m willing to overlook.

Think I’ll try some sunshine in a shaker – Pog Punch anyone?

Got another online destination for cocktail recipes? I’d love to hear it!

And yes, we adore the Bay of Fundy :-) While I'll agree it's no longer parka weather in your neck of the woods, it's not quite string bikini weather either. Shall we toast to it and let the beer warm us up? Happy St Paddy's Day! Julia"

For sure, there will be lots of fun times down here around St Paddy's day but I just want to send you a correction to say you certainly won't be needing a parka? to visit at this time of year. It's +8 to +10 degress Celius (that's in the 50s F for our American friends) - definitely well above parka weather. haha So nice that the birds are chirping and the maple sap is flying out of the trees and, ultimately, on to our pancakes. Happy spring! Terri the Bay of Fundy blogger bayoffundy.blogspot.com "

  • On Tour Bus Crash in Tortola – Caribbean Princess Passenger Dies, Jan said "We were also on the ship with our friends, had spent the day at the beach in Tortola where the slider on my Omega came off, "broke" and lost. I had just purchased it on board the ship the day prior. But nothing can compare to the loss of a family member. The Captain had everyones attention for the announcement. Captain Draper done a great job informing the passengers of the accident. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Rumphrey family."
