Websites cooking up new places to get your grub everywhere you go

Think travel is a one-way ticket to the fat farm? You're between flights, so you grab the easiest (read: highest fat) thing to munch on while sifting your way through security. Or you arrive at your destination and the only thing on your mind is something deep fried and drizzled in chocolate.

Travel AlertsTravel AlertsMore than 133 million Americans eat at restaurants on any given day, but that doesn't have to equal relinquishing control over what and how much we eat.

Newsflash: Eating while traveling can be just as healthy as eating at home. And it's not as difficult as you may think.

We know, it's tempting to hit the first fast joint that your taxi passes. But a little research (less than 5 minutes) can make sticking to your diet a simple reality. Scope out the city you'll be visiting using a site that gives honest reviews of the food, menu options and price point.

Got time while you're waiting for your ride or next flight? Go online and find out what's good to eat where with these sites.

Restaurantica - Restaurants across North America reviewed by people who eat at them. You'll find price point, hours of service and a rating for each one.

Healthy Dining Finder - Plug in the city you're going to within the US to search by price point and whether you'll eat in or take-out. Gives some nutritional information and menu selections.

Open Table - Allows you to make reservations online and gives a brief overview, dining style and menu, hours of operation and contact info.

Where do you find restaurant info when you're traveling?

Happiness and food are

Happiness and food are related to each other. And talking about cooking, i'm happier when i prepare my delicious food myself and enjoy the pleasure. I am not so interested in junk food, rather i like home made meals.

This last Sunday was Easter

This last Sunday was Easter and I visited Nikki Beach Resort Turks and was amazed. They have an incredible Sunday Brunch with everything you can imagine, and it was all great! After we gorged for a few hours with unlimited mimosas we headed to the pool party. DJ on the pool deck with a margarita in the infinity pool was like heaven. We ended the evening with Beach bonfire and BBQ. Once again the food was terrific sitting around the bonfire laughing with some of our newfound friends. I know where I will be staying next time I come to Turks and Caicos.

Actually, where I sit currently (on a barrier island) has been under water many times. Staying on an island is scary. We leave if it is over a CAT 1. The most important thing for us is to fill our gas tanks at the first inkling that there may be a storm. Water, medicines, non perishable food, they're all really important. Honestly, if it is a big storm, alcohol later serves as pay for work. We stock up on EVERYTHING. We start eating out of the freezer days before (like we did tonight, getting ready for Earl). You don't want much to go bad. Then we tie up all the trash cans, secure grills, and hold on for dear life :)"

The buses in Mexico are very comfortable like flying in a plane they often have movies and it is safer.Plan your trip and don't travel alone especially if you are female.Women traveling alone are a target Good luck and stay alert."
