We don’t recommend travel insurance for every trip. You probably don’t need insurance for quick business jaunt but for once-a-year vacations and big ticket travel, it’s a must. The average package will cover baggage loss and delay, any emergency medical expenses and recover (at least partially) the cost of your trip if your vacation is cut short or cancelled.
Always purchase travel insurance from a third party – not the company selling your tour or cruise. And choose a company that’s national or international and has good traveler reviews/recommendations. Your insurance has to be there when you need it and other travelers can point you in the direction of upstanding, trustworthy insurance companies.
