7 Sinful Indulgences at Desire Pearl Resort, Mexico

A delicious lover’s getaway in Cancun

Life can be stressful. A getaway with your lover should be about shedding inhibitions, indulging in temptation and satisfying desire. GoGirlfriend was invited to visit Desire Pearl Resort & Spa in Cancun recently and we’re happy to share the indulgences we discovered.

beach beds for sublime relaxationWhile checking in at Desire Pearl Resort & Spa in Cancun, you’ll feel the urge to get a sit a little closer to your lover as you sip mojitos. As you’re shown to your room, you’ll pass the spa, 7 villas surrounding ornamental and swimming pools, an over-sized Jacuzzi with swim-up bar and a smattering of palm trees swaying in tropical breezes, which all serve as a backdrop to a glorious, powder-white sandy beach. The goal here is to connect you to your partner. Everything from the décor to the food to the spa is designed to lead you closer to that connection.

Desire Pearl Resort and spa ... deliciously erotic!Desire has a well-earned reputation for being naughty and for those that prefer an alternative lifestyle choice – think of it as a very adult, very sexy Disney. While you should be prepared to see a lot of nakedness (and some frisky behavior) in and around the pools, this isn’t a sexual free-for-all. No means no and couples who want to be with each other are left alone. All guests must be fully dressed in the lobby and restaurants.

Curious about the 7 sinful indulgences GoGirlfriend discovered while visiting Desire Pearl Resort & Spa. Read on – if you dare…

7 sinful indulgences at Desire

(to qualify, in no particular order)

1.Ocean views

romantic ocean view from every roomIf you’ve been watching GoGirlfriend’s Facebook page, you’ll see the view of the ocean from our balcony is spectacular. Even though we visited the resort during a tropical depression (that lasted our entire visit), we loved that we were steps away from sinking our toes into the sand whenever the urge appeared. We recommend leaving your balcony door open at night and falling asleep to the sound of waves. During the storm, the wind in the palm trees coupled with the relentless pounding waves was a sweet, soothing symphony.

2.Swim up bar

Seriously, margaritas in the pool or Jacuzzi, melting away stress… Need we say more?

3.Oversized Jacuzzi and pools

Jacuzzi lounge and swim up barDesire is perched on a very private stretch of pristinely clean beach with a maze of paths that connect the pools, Jacuzzi and villas. The end result is that you’re never more than a few steps from slipping into a Jacuzzi that easily seats at least 50 people or a pool with more curves than Marilyn Monroe. If you’ve never been to Desire before, the pool areas are all clothing optional and it’s not out of the ordinary to see couples openly enjoying each other.

4.Cabana’s by the pool and at the beach

Canoodling with your lover pool or beachside? Yes, please!

5.Food

who wouldn't want dinner beachside? For me, food sets the tone of a getaway and I’m forever chasing my next great meal. Breakfasts and lunches at Desire are buffet style, enjoyed outside on the patio or inside the restaurant. Dinner is table service and meals are thoughtfully constructed and artfully presented. Desire is an all-inclusive resort, which means your food and drinks are all included in the cost. Wine by the bottle is extra though, which is an indulgence we happily satisfied. During our visit, one of the restaurants was under construction and a special meal was offered in a very private, romantic conference room decorated with billowy white curtains and a waterfall – by reservation only. Glorious would be an understatement…

6.Spa

Desire spa romanceA vacation isn’t truly a vacation until you’ve visited the spa – at least once. The spa at Desire offers a wide variety of treatments, including a smorgasbord of massages to be enjoyed alone or with your partner: Swedish, sensual and erotic (the most popular). Remember the goal here is to connect you to your partner mind, body and soul.

7.Disco & play room

disco nightlife packs the houseLet’s be honest. Desire is known for its hot discos and late-night playroom. Dancing begins at 10 pm and with a different sexy theme (the riskier the costume the better) each night. If you’re daring, the sin room offers couples a chance to take their passion to another level. Yes, it’s everything you imagine it is. And yes, just walking in the door earns you a gold-star!
