Valentines Day Caribbean Bliss List

Caribbean island finder - it's all about prioritizing

Admit it. You watched the beach and decided it was time to book a ticket somewhere tropical to hunt down your own Leonardo. But which island? If you're in search of a little jungle love this Valentine's day (and who isn't) consider my Caribbean island finder your passport to passion.

Beach Lovers

Follow Your Caribbean BlissFollow Your Caribbean BlissSun-kissed and sinfully luxurious, most Caribbean islands are beach-inclined. And true hedonists need dig no further - it really is all about the beach. Our requirements are simple: long stretches of beach with frequent places to imbibe...See, simple!

Steer clear: Dominica, Bonaire, Montserrat and Saba where nature is preserved for the native wildlife, not you and your jungle lover.

Foodgasm-Seekers

Good food goes hand in hand with vacation. But let's face facts, some islands just understand the importance of a leisurely meal that ignites the senses and prepares the pallet for the true pleasure of the evening - desert.

  • Anguilla - Food and sun go together here like peanut butter and jelly
  • Barbados - Stay here a month and you'll still find new discoveries
  • St. Maartin - the food, the view, what more can you ask for?

Steer clear: Dominican Republic, St. Vincent and Montserrat - an overwhelming abundance of all-inclusive resorts has made fine dining scarce.

Dancing Queens

Dancing on the BeachDancing on the BeachIf you're all about the after-hours fun and dancing by the light of the sun dawning on the horizon, find your soul mate on these islands.

  • Aruba - Beach, dancefloor, street - the choice is yours
  • St Maartin - on Orient Beach, do it in the all-together
  • Dominican Republic - head for the capital of Santo Domingo

Steer Clear: Montserrat, St. Kits and Saba are best enjoyed during the day when the wildlife is visible.

Pleasure-Seekers

Every vacation should be about prioritizing your goals - beach, umbrella drinks and hours doing nothing more than watching the waves roll in. All-inclusives cater to the true hedonists - getting sweaty here has nothing to do with visiting the gym.

  • St Lucia - Point your compass at Rodney Bay
  • Mexico - Resorts offer additional protection
  • Antigua - Your guy Friday is on call here

Steer Clear: Bonaire, Anguilla and Puerto Rico - they just don't do all-inclusive.

Still can't decide which island to take your lover to? Our advice is simple. Point your compass south and find an island love nest - any island love nest. The sun, sand and surf will be enough to ignite the sense. Really.
